Baku King (or King Baku as he nicknamed himself) is the main political leader, and founder of Rauel alongside his two other associates - Delhara and Gesiah. He is an over the top old man who cares much about how the people of Rauel see him, and is quite emotionally sensitive towards anything that might tarnish his reputation.

King Baku is an overly grandiose individual that values the people's perception, especially the one of his granddaughter Tobi, to a colossal extent. He completely rejects the people considering him a bygone and old relic[1][2], instead wanting to be as well seen as he was in his glory days[3]. Taking any kind of jabs at his public image and legacy he has left behind as a founder, regardless of the severity is something he takes rather seriously, even if its something like a diaper on a statue[4].
As stated, he does care much more about his granddaughter perception of him and vows to make her proud of the old man she has by catching the thieves that had stolen various relics in the museum earlier that day[5][6].
Despite calling himself a King based on his own family surname, he's always been more of a town elder along with Delhara than Rauel's ruler[7]

King Baku's powers remain mysterious but as seen through his last-second rescue of Tobi and her doomed exploration team, its as if he is able to 'hack' reality, break it apart and break the so-called rules that have been put it in place[8].
Baku is also possibly proficient in the use of the so-called Legendary Weapons, which were the tools he used to fight and create Rauel Village many years ago.[6]
Dungeon Doorway[]
Baku is capable of creating a doorway through the dungeon that connects the boss room directly to the outside. Also note in that same picture Necro-Gaia's hand being glitched out
Glitching cracks[]
Baku punches the air, creating a long crack of code that runs along like a crack appearing in a window.

King Baku, alongside Delhara and Gesiah are not 'from this world', and as is implied, they are from the one beyond the Shira Desert's Temple - the real world. It is unknown why, or how they came to be in this separate realm as not a single weapon can breach these temples[9]. This fact, alongside the visual implication that Baku and his associate's ears are not the same pointy ones as the rest of Rauelians (hence the covers), is completely hidden from his people.
As per King Baku's own teachings, he and his men travelled to the Shira Desert, a eat or be eaten wasteland. One that he and his men corrected, likely by getting rid of all the horrid monsters and constructing a city on massive stilts[10]. They are also in all likelihood responsible for solving the problem of thirst that the people of Rauel faced[11].
Dungeon[]
As Delhara noticed that the dungeon suddenly changed from a level 4 to level 7. Baku and Delhara immediately moved to try to find the exploration team and scold them. Baku created a pathway to the boss room through his glitch powers and immediately found the party in a sorry state, as the exploration team suffered nearly a full party wipe. Sari was critically injured, unconscious and having lost both her arm and her weapon. Tobi's class was completely debuffed away and she was fighting in civilian clothes without any of the dungeon's defensive boosts where any hits would critically injure her too. Jake's vehicle was completely crushed and his arm was injured while Joni (who had previously been lasered by a Pols and stabbed to her back by a Shadow) was bleeding significantly, being puppeteered by one of Necro-Gaia's hands and had been used as a human shield to protect it from Jake's machine gun.
Baku who had come to scold them, immediately sombered up and stated that he was above the rules imposed by the dungeon, and that he could break them at will, and that thats why they called him King. Breaking the dungeon's code by pounding the air and creating glitched cracks, He stated he would deal with the boss, and tells Tobi and Jake to grab Joni and Sari and escape throughout the glitched hole he made[12]. He refuses to answer Tobi's question of where theses numbers comes from, simply telling her that its nothing to break her little brain over[13].
As one of the earliest inhabitants of Rauel, Baku appears to be one of the few along with Delhara to understand the deeper secrets that make up Rauel's dungeons but refuses to elaborate on what happened, telling Tobi that it doesnt concern her. With Delhara giving a sideeye to Tobi when she mentions the floating numbers.[14] Baku seems to refuse to enter dungeons, instead opting to send exploration team. The lie he told Tobi was that he couldn't fight in dungeons anymore because his high level would not award him any loot.[15]

- "A king stands above the rules." [16]
[]
- When a commentator asked Baku's reason for fighting the boss, despite it being pointless and the boss no longer awarding any treasure for its defeat due to the game rules being broken. Neorice stated: "You're right, there's not much of a point. But keep in mind that Baku's got something to prove. (that he's not an old relic*) His plan to make a cool impression to the kids was kinda ruined by them being half dead though."[17]
- Despite his insistence to the contrary, Baku is not permanently banned or not able to get loot from the dungeon anymore. If he was able to go through the dungeon normally by following its rules, then he would get the loot. Neorice was also not sure what the kids could do to break the rules by themselves.[18]
